New year, new opportunities: MEDI Verbund, a free association to protect the interests of doctors and psychotherapists, has assigned xalution group with an innovation project for the introduction of Microsoft D365 Sales (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (ERP). This is intended to significantly accelerate the supply of medical supplies to physicians, especially in crisis situations such as the current Corona pandemic.

The new project is paving the way for future-proof and crisis-resistant services. xalution supports MEDI Verbund as an official Microsoft Gold partner, bringing also great expertise in international trade. A key factor in the decision to work together was the fundamental requirement of the Nuremberg-based digitization specialists to always keep the Microsoft infrastructure open for add-ons – also from third-party providers.

MEDI Verbund sales and project manager Lars Hörning says:

“It was very important to us to have an experienced partner at our side who is open to new technologies and approaches, and who brings best practice know-how to the project – and thus also processes that have already been successfully tested. Only in this way we are able, as a system-relevant supplier of medical products, to set up a networked state-of-the-art supply chain and thus to guarantee a comprehensive and, above all, rapid supply of goods to our members even in crisis situations”.

Optimization of inventory management, finance, sales and customer relationship management

In addition to the introduction of Microsoft D365, the focus of the cooperation is above all
the renewal of the existing processes and of the technology stacks previously used by MEDI Verbund

in the areas of inventory management, finance, sales and customer relationship management. The field service for the connected practices is also to be clearly optimized, as is the entire value chain, including warehouse and logistics processes, which is to be achieved primarily through a higher degree of automation.

The project will be built in an agile way within the framework of a greenfield approach and based on Cloud technologies. It includes the entire new implementation of the Microsoft D365 CRM and ERP components, which can be designed extremely flexibly through the use of Cloud technology. At the same time, the standard solution already offers comprehensive process coverage and clear user guidance.

The xalution group takes on the analysis of the existing business processes, makes suggestions for their adaptation or simplification, provides the software and migrates all data from the existing ERP and CRM systems to the new solution.

xalution managing director Tobias Endl says:

“The advantage of the greenfield approach for MEDI Verbund is that the implementation runs without impairing the existing business processes and efficient and lean processes can be implemented right from the start.”
